Toadkit is still seeing weird dreams of darkness and trouble, and he begins to think that maybe they aren't dreams at all... Stormpaw senses that something is wrong, after WindClan begins to have unusual troubles, and cats begin acting weird. Sparrowpaw keeps glimpsing things that she feels no cat is supposed to see, and trouble seems to form everywhere. The clans thought they were done... but now a new darkness is rising.

Disclaimer: This is a completely different world with completely different clans. This fan-book is based off of the book series "Warriors" by Erin Hunter. Since this is based off of Warriors, there will be mild violence in this book. All the characters and the setting of this story is my original work while the rest (like the way how Clans and warrior traditions work, etc.) belong to Erin Hunter. ValleyClan has been struggling to survive in the past few moons as their enemies grow more powerful. CaveClan is becoming more of a threat and prey has become scarce as leaf-bare comes, but a young apprentice by the name of Darkpaw lets her own curiosity get the better of her to help her Clan--and maybe, just maybe she's the warrior ValleyClan has been looking for. NOTICE (so people won't bother me about them): I had not read past "The Prophecies Begin" when I wrote the prologue, chapter 1, and chapter 2 so you may seem some characters with names that already exist. Also, some cats' appearances may be based off of domesticated cats, are unrealistic, or don't follow the rules of cat genetics. I am aware that regular warrior cats are wild cats, but when I initially made these designs, I got so used to them that I am not encouraged to redesign them. But hey, this is a fictional story! Multiple things in this book may not be accurate to the traditional way of warrior life (due to me not remembering how it works).

This is the first book of the first series of my warrior cats fanfic defenders. The clans have started not long ago. Scar's treacherous threat has been destroyed by Streamclans strong leader, Streamstar. In Streamclan, Lionpaw is starting out as a mentor but is shocked to learn a new truth that may just lead to more trouble than any cat could imagine. In Treeclan, Echopaw is dealing with a troublesome leader who is desperately searching for a deputy to hold his values but in the midst of everything he finds himself with a troublesome crush situation. In Cloudclan, Flamepaw hears rumors about a troublesome mate that only prevents any interest in love. In Scarclan, Leafpaw finds herself falling for a tom, who may end up being more bad than good.

Mist has finally given in to Mouse's pleas to head off on a journey after a strange tom visits her in a dream. While following the brightest star, they meet other cats on their way. It's almost as if the journey isn't just for them, since it seems that many others share their dreams. Miley is excited to finally be out in the real world with her best friend, Harvey. Although the tom he behaving anxiously, she trusts him to follow his instinct and survive out in the cold world. Her acquaintance, Shade, leads them deeper into forests as they follow the instructions of a dream to follow the brightest star. But as all seems lost in a violent blizzard, something stops them from succumbing to the cold of death. Flamepaw has always wanted to help her clan. To save her clan. All they knew was that they bowed down to the royal family, to the ruler and the ruler's heir. The system was not perfect. The system was hardly even good.
