(Mavenxthomas) A red queen fanfic. Maven Calore never thought he'd be sent to war. He'd never wanted to. It's keeps your enemies away." I exhale, scoffing loudly enough for The King to hear. "Turns out it keeps my friends away, too." My Father laughs, looking to the floor as he shakes his head in amusement. "Oh Maven, people like us don't have friends." I nod my head, because in truth, I've never agreed with anything more. "That's because we kill anyone who dares get close enough to touch us."

The title says it all.

Some days it was hard for him to figure out who he was. Was he a baker, or a fisher? Sometimes the thought of going to the water freaked him out. Sometimes he couldn't imagine life without a family. Then he wakes up, and wonders if he really wanted an abusive mother and a distant father. He wakes up to wanting to go back to the river. Some days, the words that come out of his mouth are so filthy, even his friend-Mare-blushes at his choice of words. And some days, he can't say a milder form of the word without taking a hit to the head and a scolding for using such 'vile, Seam language'. "What are you, boy?" She rarely calls him by either name. "Don't you dare use that Seam language in my house. You're a merchant child, we don't speak like them." He wants to say that technically, he is part Seam. Half of his life is spent in the Stilts, in a rickety house with low pay and muddy streets streaked with oil. Disclaimer: I do not own Hunger Games or Red Queen.

Who would be interested in a RQ Black Friday fanfiction special? I was thinking that it would take place post-Calore Dance Academy, IF Mare accepted Mister Calore's contract offer and bought a house. This intense Black Friday shopping spree would entail the RQ characters going out and spending tens of thousands of dollars to help Mare's family furnish their brand-new house. Sounds hilarious, right? Mare and Cal would be together in the fan fiction, and it would basically be as though everything was magically resolved. (for example, Cal and Farley could be in the same room and it wouldn't be weird) Maybe Maven and Thomas meet, and they pull some shenanigans at Best Buy? Perhaps Farley and Ruth Barrow balance one another out at Target and end up bonding? And most certainly do Mare's brothers give Cal a hard time at Walmart. *this fan fiction special shall be posted on Thanksgiving! In the meantime, please drop some comments to give me ideas about what you want and who you want to see. All characters are up for grabs!
