The Beginning is a novelette for the Guarding the Vila series. It takes place before Red. It is approx. 10k words and is a short-story.

They have to go to each others' houses to work on the project, but they're constantly finding excuses to not meet at each others' houses, most of which are valid. Also, they talk about the science project in dance class a lot. Two months in, they're pretty good friends, but during the third month, Haley is starting to fall for Skyler. Skyler feels the same way too, so he asks her out on a date and she says yes. They go on a date, and you can figure out the rest. No, I will not write anything dirty, so don't suggest it.
