Author note: This is a short fantasy story. It was originally an idea that I wanted to submit to an online magazine but I decided to post it here. Allison is a wallflower, a loner; she keeps to herself, occasionally talking to her cousin Dani. She wasn't always like this; she was outgoing and talkative but after the death of her mom, she secluded herself from the world. Her only safe is outdoors surrounded by nature but since the woods are considered dangerous in her cousin's hometown, she settles for the school's garden. Until one day she finds herself in the middle of the forest. Afraid and alone she questions how she got there. But she's not alone. Ardelean, the name of his home, his responsibility; left to rule the forest at a young age Soren is desperate for a solution. The forest is dying; no-one knows why or how to stop it. No-one except the forest itself. When Soren sees Allison in the middle of the forest, he is discouraged wondering how a weak girl could save his home. He needs to trust the forest; the forest knows best. Now it's up to him to ask Allison to help him. Will she help him or just leave?

This is a suite of poetry I wrote for school. They are quaterns, meaning that they have sixteen lines divided into four stanzas. They also have a repeated line which is line one of the first stanza, line two of the second .etc I used a simple rhyming scheme so I had more flexibility to tell a story. I posted these because I am proud of them, NOT so someone can use them for an English project. Just saying

Craving revenge for his father's death and safety for his mother and younger brother, Jameson resolves to kill the beast. If only it was that easy. The Serpent is a magical creature, so a magical weapon is needed to destroy it. Jameson and his companions must travel to The Mists, where the weapon is rumored to be protected. The travelers expect The Mists to simply be the name of the waterfall; instead, they discover something entirely different. But first, they have to make it to The Mists alive.
