What happens when five monsters audition for a haunted house? Chaos, romance, harrowing escapes, and betrayal, of course! Meet Arnold, the bat shapeshifter, Dwayne, the gargoyle, Lina, the werewolf, Carmine, the ghost, and Felipe, the vampire. Together, they are determined to travel across America to audition for a haunted house. It's one of the few opportunities for them to feel comfortable being themselves in front of others. Except, things do not go as expected. When three of the five are hired, new plans must be made. Some want to take the chance to feel normal, but some want revenge. Michael is a really successful author, but since he published his last book he just doesn't know what to write about anymore. One day, someone suggests he try a new genre to see if it might be a better fit for him. And so Michael starts writing: he becomes completely obsessed with his new book. It all seems innocent until he's working late one night and accidentally ends up in his book. Michael finds all this super cool, because what author wouldn't want to meet his characters? But then he remembers: the genre he has switched to is horror.

Georgino and Matteo's story Matteo is many things. He is a soldier, a friend and the biggest hothead on the planet (according to various sources). But what he also was, is a man in love - broken hearted or not. Matteo loves Georgino - heir to the mafia throne and someone Matteo just can't get over.
