Nicole and Waverly had issues while they were dating, issues that involved them distancing each other and not talking for a few months, issues that involve fighting most of their relationship. Waverly tries, she tries so hard to get Nicole to be a part of her life, even just as a friend. She just wants Nicole to be there because she loves her, she always did.

But (excluding the comics) there is no hints about Valdez, so that part is literally all guess work sorry on that front - I tried to include it though and not just ignore it.

Nicole Haught arrived in Purgatory and felt different way . Something within her called for Purgatory . Initially she was not sure what it was but when the full moon arrived , she was feeling like getting more energy . Finally during the full moon she finds out there was a wolf inside her which called her for Purgatory . But that was not the problem , the main problem is will her girlfriend accept her as she was or will break with her . Sorry guys if my grammars are wrong , as English is not my mother tongue .
