During Harry's second year, the incident and rumor about Harry being "The Heir of Slytherin" has reached Fudge. And being the normal paranoid man he is, he sent Aurors to arrest the boy. Harry pleaded not guilty and begged Dumbledore for help. But, Dumbledore ignored the boy in fear of losing his job.
