Wednesday Addams ends up in trouble intentionally. Asa Addams ends up in trouble unintentionally. In the Addams family, trouble is normal. Asa just makes it louder. So when Pugsley finds a "not-dead-but-also-not-normal" boy in the wrong place, he names him Slurp. Asa agrees. Immediately. No questions asked. Keeping a zombie in the house? Fine.
