Written for the Weekend WriteIn prompt "Moving Day" 17-19 February 2017. In 500 words, write a story where somebody moves away. Memories of moving aboard in preparation for sailing off for a few years. This was my fifty-fifth move in sixty-five years, and the story is an excerpt from my blog at the time.

Expect masses of things blown up, rambo style mayhem and sheer ridiculous hokey cliche overkill starring action heroes in the best tradition of Terminator, Rambo, Cable/X-Force, The Expendables, 80's Wolverine, Grindhouse movies and more - beer will be swilled, harley davidsons will be ridden, cigars will be smoked copiously and there will be guys with long hair, stubble, leather jackets, shades and biceps the size of basketballs hefting impossibly heavy guns the size of a post box! Mood music in each story will help you get into the swing of the eras and adventures of the titular character.

Weekend write in Dec 21. Prompt, excuse. You know there is something wrong with you, and you make excuses. Women are less likely to be diagnosed than men. There are older women who probably got missed by the system. Some where out there.

Some friends are getting into podcasting their literary works. I applaud and admire their initiative; however, the inclusion of the term pod brings to mind a couple of my old horror movie memories. Forgive my effort to poke some gentle fun. Jimt

Looking at the night sky, what do you see?

The second best movie song of all time, according to the critics. "Mr Megaphone", Rudy Vallee's only number one hit, though his version was not in the famous movie. Guy who sang it on the screen, Dooley Wilson, did not put it out as a recording because of a musicians' strike (1942-1944) for better royalty payments.

As a young boy, my family moved quite often as our father was in the US Navy. This is my recollection of how that moving and loss of friends affected me as a young boy. For weekendwritein "Friend" 4/3/20

Based upon what was said to be a true story, related to me later in life by one of the male participants. He always insisted that he was not the one who manually made the discovery. The names were changed to protect the guilty and the embarrassed.
