It is the turn of the century and night is falling on the last days of the old west. The wild years of settling the frontier with a rifle in one hand and a spell book in the other are at an end. But the magicians of the Old West are not going down without a fight. Tallis Bertrand is a young man of the back lines of the growing conflict, trapped in a dead end job, struggling to work for a cause he doesn't believe in, and dreaming of something. Tallis' wishes are granted in the worst possible way when he is betrayed and finds himself on the wrong side of the law. A young boy sets out to find and kill the man that murdered his father. The only problem is, the outlaw he pursues, by all accounts, was publicly hanged and buried years ago. He must discover how much truth there is behind his father's death, and whether or not he chases a horrifying reality or just another ghost story. The journey of vengeance may very well lead him to discover the wisdom of the old expression: "If you plot your enemies grave, then you better dig two."
