Yasu ist ein 15 Jähriger Junge, welcher in Avenitia aufgewachsen ist. Seit seiner frühen Kindheit träumt er davon, mit einem Pokemon auf die Reise zu gehen. An seinem 15. Geburtstag könnte sich dieser Traum erfüllen, denn die Ortsansässige Pokemon Forscherin Professor Esche will ihm sein erstes Pokemon schenken. Wie die Geschichte weiter geht, auf was für Menschen er treffen wird und was für Abenteuer er erleben wird, ist ungewiss.
