It was a peaceful day in the HermitCraft server. Until Grian and Xisuma disappeared. In Wisconsin, Wels was attacked and shoved in a van blindfolded. Impulse was attacked on vacation with his family. When they are put together in real life to compete in a weird version of "Tge Amazing Race," against 20 other teems of three, will they come out on top? Or will they never see their friends again?

He learns that Wels is also friends with the two ghosts that live in the dorm down the hall, and also learns that Wels was the last person seen with the ghosts before they were mysteriously murdered. Will he be able to figure out the secret Wels is hiding, or will he realize that he has been focusing on the wrong thing the entire time...

"Grian?" X panted. The figure before them stood, revealing that it was, indeed, Grian, although he was not looking great, His hair was wind-blown, sure, but it looked even more disheveled than that. His flying had been so sloppy that Xisuma had barely recognized him at first. His chestplate seemed to have been strapped on in a hurry, as it hung awkwardly on his body. And then there were his eyes. Bags had formed under them and they were quite bloodshot, yet there was a certain wildness to them. His eyes were wide open despite his fatigue, and he looked more than a little frantic. "Guys! You can't be here!" "What?" X tilted his head in confusion. "Why not?" Grian turned to Scar. "Can't you feel it?" Scar didn't understand. "Grian? What are you talking about? Feel what?" "The magic!" Grian cried. "It's too dangerous for you to be here!" "Grian, you're not making any sense." By now, Grian was visibly shaking. "Just - please tell me you didn't go inside." "We were just coming out," X replied. Grian's eyes, if even possible, grew larger, the redness accentuating the anxiety therein. No - not anxiety. Fear. What happens when Xisuma, Scar, Joe, and Wels stumble upon a strange temple in a distant jungle filled to the brim with magic? What happens when Grian's past is thrust back upon him, after only a year of peace? And why is everyone changing?

Grian can't help but notice that Doc has been very secretive about his project lately, and it's really bothering Ren. And, now that he thinks about it, Scar's been rather absent as well. The crown of a king is hard to bare. But Xisuma knows what its like, he's been king for over 9 years after all. when he gets news that an assassin guild has been running rampant in his kingdom, harming his subjects, he knows he must put an end to this. But how...? There are no intended ships in this fanfic/book thing, mainly friendship. This fanfic/book will have angst and quite a few triggers (TWs will be posted at the beginning of each chapter).
