Not just any bear but a polar bear, the largest carnivore on the planet. More specifically, Avery Nanuk a polar bear shifter. Avery Nanuk lives a calm peaceful life as a school nurse working in a school built just for shifters like him. He was found as a cub out in the woods many years before and was adopted into a small wolf pack up in the northern reaches of Canada. Avery has grown up as the only bear shifter in the area and has grown used to the fact of living alone. All Avery wants is a normal and peaceful life living out in the woods in his cozy little cabin and his outdoor swimming pool. But the fates have something else in store. Curiosity killed the cat. He'll realize he should have listened to that old adage when he discovers they aren't human and that one of them has a taste for blood. Human blood. Will he survive, or will he be destroyed and never seen again, his body lost somewhere in the expansive forests and beaches of Northern Michigan's dune land wilderness. I've had much fun with this story, making it go deeper than I'd initially intended. You'll see what I mean as you get to the end. A new addition to this is that I've decided to write a second book that will be a continuation of this story and potentially, if things work out, a third would then be forthcoming. Currently, its title is 'Terror in the Town'. Just to make sure people don't think I spelled wrong or placed the city of Otsego in the wrong place, Ostego is a fictional town that serves as the place for many of my stories. I hope you enjoy it. After being forced to walk the final few miles to their home deep in the woods, William Axon and his mother Alyssa make it home and go to sleep, but in the early morning hours five invaders come in and destroy their comfortable sleep. From a peaceful night to a painful bite they find themselves fighting off creatures they thought never existed. With two surprising plot twists, this story should prove interesting. I couldn't comprehend what I was witnessing. One second, there was a man in front of me with dark, unruly hair and broad shoulders covered by an old skier's jacket. I saw old men wear them at the ski lodge all the time during weekend escapades. The next second, a bear stood in his place.
