My first public fan fiction, so please enjoy, and criticism is welcome if it's polite and good intentioned. It was a normal day for Soul and Maka, until the mail came in. Maka suddenly finds herself shut out of Soul's life and to top it off, Soul decides he's leaving for a while! Will Maka find out what Soul is hiding or what was in the mysterious letter delivered to her best friend? BTW: I don't own Soul Eater, just the idea and I don't intend on arguing with anyone over ideas, so don't be mean! :P

Music was once a family tradition the Evans' family exclusively followed, before circumstances changed. More revelations were made, and before long, a thirteen year old Soul travelled to Death City to train as a weapon, and follow on an old tradition that was followed by closer family members than once realised. Wes however, is scared of Soul's risky path, and finds it hard to come to terms with letting his beloved little brother go.
