Julieta Nunez, cousin to Bernardo and Maria Nunez, is lifelong friends with the leaders of the Jets. She gets caught between her friends and cousin's gangs. While the tension between the gangs rises, so does the tension between Julieta and Riff.

He stays close by mainly to keep an eye on his best friend Riff.
