I always wondered what would happen when I reached this point in my life. The point where I would have to face everyone outside of the barrier my father put up to protect me. Today, I turn 18. That means I will officially have to attend Westwick Academy. I've never been to a school with other people because of who my father is. I was always taught by very pricey tutors. Now, it is mandatory that I be enrolled in some form of prepatory institute. No one can go anywhere far in life without attending the Academy for atleast 4 years, depending on what you aspire to be. I am terrified to go. I have never had to face the people who ridicule me on a daily basis; the people who make my father secretly resent me and keep me at arms length. Outside the sanctuary of my home, people know me as GiGi. It stands for Gift-less Girl. Thanks to the relentless media, it is a widely known 'fact' that I, the daughter of Alexander Skye, the most powerful man in the world, have been cursed by the heavens and 'damned' to be 'giftless'. But I have a secret. A secret that no one knows. Every time someone criticizes me, calls me names or drags my name through the mud, I take it in stride because I know that this is the path I have chosen. And I will keep this secret for as long as I possibly can.
