In the year 2034, mankind was beset by a foreign enemy, an event known as the Adriatic Rift had torn reality asunder and opened a great gaping maw in the middle of the Adriatic Sea, sucking in countless civilian and several military vessels when it had just spawned. Before the states most affected by this event could even react monstrous creatures began to emerge from the sea, inhuman in nature and armed with natural weapons and various melee weapons, these creatures that came in a vast variety of forms tore apart the coastal settlements first and foremost, focusing most heavily on Italy and Croatia. But even in the face of an otherworldly invasion mankind refused to lay down and die, and thus with the aid of NATO, EU, UN and many other alliances, a Coalition force of volunteers from around the world was formed and financed, created specifically to try and fight this unknown foe aswell as aid local national forces which had already mobilized and fully engaged the incursion on their borders. Sergeant Major Faris Kotroman, Sergeant Quentin McCalley, Corporal Preston Glina and Corporal Moritz "Moe" Schrader are such soldiers, men who willingly took up arms to defend their homes and fellow humans against whatever the hell this unknown incursion was, yet the first engagement against a major force of such creatures saw the local national force alongside forces of the Coalition retreat in terror, these four men were lucky enough to find one another by sheer luck. Yet before they could celebrate the fact they had indeed found one another in the bloody aftermath of battle, another smaller rift opens right in front of them... (Warhammer 40k fanfic, criticism appreciated and welcomed)

Konrad Curze's life had been a nightmare, a ceaseless descent into blood and shadows. His fate had been written in darkness long before he could fight against it, a path he could never escape, no matter how hard he tried. She had felt it all-the madness creeping in, the slow, inevitable unraveling of the man within the monster. But Vaelion? Vaelion had once known warmth. Love. He had been a child who laughed, who dreamed, who believed. He had not been shaped by destiny, but by loss. And somehow, somewhere along the way, he had become Konrad Curze.
