Seven years ago, there were plenty of birds in the sky. Five years ago, the war started. Nothing has been the same. Food has become scarce. People fighting for their lives. Serena is a girl who isn't so lucky to be alive during all of this. She's fascinated by the birds. There's something about the way they escape all of the madness, it's something Serena dreams of. When Serena goes out to get food for her and her mother, she finds a girl. The only thing she's ever learned is to run from strangers, so she runs. Although, the next time she goes outside of her house, she isn't so lucky as she doesn't get a chance to run.
