Anne could practically feel the colour drain from her face, she could almost taste the blood that dropped from her head to her toes. This man wasn't fearsome in the way Eight was, he wasn't a mystery like Fourteen was, he wasn't foolish like Twenty-one was. No. This man stood in a way that meant he was not the negotiable sort. His attitude was the type that was merciless to all who disobeyed him. This man spoke in a way that would scare away Frankenstein himself. ---------- Anne Samuel of New York City thinks she lives a normal life -- that is, until her mother dies and she is thrust into a world of secret organizations, spies, and black limosuines. She discovers IINGA -- the International Investigational Non-governmental Agency, a hidden organization that her mother used to belong to. Anne also discovers that, because of her mother, there is another organization out there who wants her dead.

I let out a scream of feral fury, clenching my fists so hard they bleed, my throat cracking as my eyes start to burn with tears. I feel hands on my wrists, pulling me up. I don't want to be pulled up, but I don't have a choice. Jaxson is much stronger than me, and it's a better choice anyway. "Where did they go?" I whisper, but his attention isn't on me anymore. He's staring a space halfway through the kitchen. "Jaxson...?" He gets up and walks to where he was staring at, bending over when he arrives. He picks up something that was laying on the ground, and his expression turns grim. "Hey A, you might want to see this."

Character profiles for my book "Whitefire"

This takes place during the final showdown between Mare and Maven. It mostly covers Maven's thoughts and feelings as he dies. I got this idea from reading a Hamilton fanfiction where Eliza meets Hamilton in the afterlife, so there is a few references... well there's one, and the title is a reference to off Broadway Hamilton. Anyways, hope you enjoy!
