Madison is a lonely Florida girl who is struggling with relationship problems with her boyfriend, Johnny. Hoping to fix their relationship, they travel to San Diego. However, while on vacation, Madison runs into a hot-shot Navy pilot at a bus station, and has an uncanny feeling that this man is actually the man she wants. After Johnny breaks up with Madison one unfortunate night, Madison sets off on multiple vacations to try and find the pilot. However, Madison's world gets turned upside down when her new best friend, Charlotte Blackwood, introduces her to her boyfriend, who is none other than Pete (or Maverick) Mitchell, the man Madison had been looking for for the past few months.
