The apocalypse ended a decade ago.
James Smith feels like it happened yesterday. With the loss of his wife, who succumbed to the virus, and becoming a single dad to his son Scott, and daughter Angie, he's had a rough few years.
When the radio Angie likes to listen to suddenly becomes static, and a voice rings out, declaring coordinates for a safe haven, for any surviving humans, James scrambles.
Is it legit? Or a hoax?
He could be sacrificing his kids lives by travelling across the world, just to walk into a trap. Not to mention the danger of catching the disease still.
But Scott's inhalers are running low, and Angie at 15 can't even remember what other children her age are like.
James is running out of options, and this one might be his way out of a tough life.
With the added complexity of fellow travellers they meet along the way.
A widower, with an infant daughter, and an ailing father.
A fierce orphan who's never even met another person her age.
Three teens from a colony that recently collapsed, lost and clinging to each other for survival. One with a deep rooted fear for water. Another with her heart on her sleeve. And one with a cocky attitude that will get him killed.
And James trying to handle new feelings for a woman too much like himself, the fact their group now has six hormonal teenagers, one toddler, a man old enough to remember the Second World War, and his daughters pet cat.
What could go wrong?
