After the events of an altered Megaman Zero 4 where Zero survives, Ciel is tasked with carrying on Zero's legacy, and fighting for what SHE thinks is right. Despite this fact, Zero has retired from fighting and no longer wishes to be in the battlefield, now he works as an operator for Ciel, tasking her with missions.
