In the summer of 1861, Elizabeth fell in love with John. And despite the world trying to pry the two apart, they remained together. But as the Civil War unfolds, Southern belle Elizabeth is sent to a boarding school in Massachusetts, forbidden to ever see him again, and the poor farmer John joins the Confederate army to fight for his true love. As their lives take an unexpected twist, following an arranged marriage, a child who was not born to her fiance, and the death of her dear brother, Elizabeth must decide where her life is headed. Will she be forced to marry a man she doesn't love, or will she and John run away to the mountains, the only place she knows she would be happy? The place where the wildflowers grow.

The story takes place in a fractured, near-future world. After decades of silent wars, covert takeovers, and government collapses, the world's borders have blurred. Power belongs not to nations - but to militarized factions, corrupt private armies, and the survivors who live in their wake. One such faction - The Soldiers of the East End - once operated as a highly respected border defense unit. Trained to handle post-war security and global smuggling routes, they gradually turned rogue, taking control of trade, territory, and weapons tech. Their loyalty lies with whoever pays most.

Statuses and the like.

We often think change is an ending. But sometimes, it's just the first bloom of something new. Like wildflowers in an open field, growth comes not through control but by letting go, being still, and allowing life to surprise us.

Osiris was born into the harsh, cruel land of Acravia. Polar opposites arranged to be married. - "I wasn't supposed to fall in love. This was never supposed to happen. We were supposed to be opposites, the world trying to force us apart. But like that one science guy said, opposites attract. We couldn't be more different yet we had so much in common. I need him to live. He's my air, my water, my happiness. I just wished I knew that sooner."
