Not when her father passed, and she was forced to sell the family farm to pay off debts, nor when a smooth talking stranger offered to let her travel with him for her own 'safety.' Of course, it didn't matter. Not when she was left to hang for a crime she didn't commit, and certainly not when she was forced into a marriage to save her life. So why... Why did this strange man save her? Why does he want to take care of her?

One night, Hamilton rides into a deserted town, but as soon as he rides into town, his entire world changes as he is pulled into a new dimension. Lafayette, chasing after him is pulled into this same dimension. They soon find in this dimension, a place where time moves differently, hundreds of people, unable to leave- trapped here for perpetual eternity. The devil cursed the town of Littlehill 20 years ago, so that any man or woman who enters will be trapped there for eternity, or, until they have become a significantly better person. Every year, there is a judgement day, judging each person. If the devil deems them to be better enough, they get to leave, returning to exactly where they left off. If not, they have to stay there for the next year at least. Judgement day is in one month. And Alexander Hamilton is determined to get out of there.
