Dr. Brenner did all sorts of tests on her and she finally escaped at the age of 15. When she escaped she saw a familiar face... 011. Eventually she meets all of El's friends and quickly became a part of the party. Y/n lives with Joyce, Will and Johnathan. Y/n goes to the same school as her friends. When the town Hawkins becomes a danger to her friends, she must try to save the world.

Max Mayfield and y/n Madson are like sisters and technically they are. After y/n's parents died she moved into Max's house when she found out that Susan (Max's mum) was her godmother.
