Lavender likes observing people, and by the end she has them figured out. Their backstory, what they want out of life, and their deepest fears. She spends her days figuring out classmates, neighbors, and strangers on the street. Soon it seems like she knows everybody better than they know themselves. And she is just about to give up for lack of interest when she meets Sage. Lavender thinks she's pegged sage,, the nerd who dislikes everyone. However sage is indignant, an goes around trying to prove Lavender she's wrong about her.
