He'd put up with Mike ignoring his latest letters, taking the hint and putting down his pen, picking up the paintbrush to aim his emotions into his canvas instead. Mike visiting, then ignoring him again? Everyone forgetting his birthday? He'd have to suck it up for his brother and sister's sake. But there's someone who keeps sticking around, noticing things Will thinks he's hidden well. Calling him nicknames and complimenting him- and suddenly, he doesn't feel so bitter about being trapped in a van with his sister and his crush. Jeremiah Doyle is a breath of fresh air, and Will thinks he might need it.
