The goodwife. Alternate ending to 5×15. Will is admitted to the hospital with two gun shot wounds to the chest. Will he survive?

Alicia only got the first message, but she didn't let that go so easily (AU after Eli deletes Will's second voicemail) ps.: this is my first attempt to write a story, so I'm apologising in advance

Sneak peek: "Go to sleep, Leesh, I'll be here when you wake up." Will says. "Promise?" She asks, her eyes fluttering. "I promise, now go to sleep." "Thank you for catching me before I fell a week ago, Will." "I will always catch you before you fall, Leesh." Will replies, kissing her hair.

Sneak peek: Alicia can't believe Will carried this around it for 20 years. Just like Will carried it around for 20 years, she'll wear it for more than 20 years and be happy, for Will.

It happens on Valentine's Day which might seem a bit cliche but not to them, no to them it's perfect.

Three months ago, Alicia walked into Lockhart/Gardner and asked Will to stop loving her. Will he?

Sneak peek: He's done letting her break his heart again and again. She's broken his heart a thousand times over, it's time for her to know what that feels like. Their eyes lock together as he steps into the elevator waiting for the doors to finally close on what was never going to happen. He doesn't reopen the doors, they remain closed on her.

Sneak peek: "Just relax, Leesh, we won't let you fall. I've got you. I've never let you fall before, and I won't start now." Will replies. She only shakes her head and lets them do what they're doing, fully believing that Will won't let her fall because he's got her and he's never let her fall before she he won't start letting her fall now. I've got you.

Sneak peek: She collapses onto his blood covered chest, his blood sticking to her hair and face, half hoping to hear even the tiniest sound of his heartbeat thumping in her ear, like she's heard so many times. His heart is no longer beating. It hits her then: William Paul Gardner is dead.

It's nearing midnight in Chicago on December 31st, Alicia and Will are at the same New Year's Eve party thrown by Diane. Both have no one to kiss when the clock strikes midnight but they're not speaking to each other, not since she and Cary left Lockhart?Gardner, so will a kiss at midnight mend all the heartbreak they'd put each other through?

Because their love is forever. Season 5 AU (kind of)

"You can leave, Will, but I'm not letting you go without a fight and it's going to be one hell of a fight, Will Gardner." She says as she leaves his office with tears falling down her face.

Sneak peek: For tonight she will believe that this boy will make her visible if it's only to him, and give up on her notion that love at first sight does exist. After finding a forgotten mask, Alicia Gardner is transported to the the night she met her husband at her mother's masquerade party and relives the ups and downs of her love story starting with the night she met her husband

Sneak pee: "I will remember you for the rest of time, Will." I whisper before falling back on my be and falling asleep, the picture still in my grip.

Sneak peek: "Either leave him, and start a real relationship with me or stay with him, and give your marriage another chance, because I'm done waiting. I've waited for you for 19 years and I'm not waiting another 19 years. I'm done waiting for you Alicia." Will tells her before he walks out of the kitchen into his bedroom, closing his bedroom door behind him.

Sneak peek: It was a year ago today he had died with her name on his lips as he died. It was a year ago today she was told by Diane that he loved her. It was a year ago today all the life was sucked out of her.

They were tragedies once upon a time but not anymore.

When a client comes in after suffering a miscarriage, it brings up some past memories for Alicia that only a handful of people know about. Sneak peek: Only a handful of people were supposed to know, he wasn't, he couldn't know. It was her most kept secret.

Sneak peek: The memories of him will live in my head rent free where no one but me will have access to them, they will be my way of remembering him, they will be my way of holding onto him for the rest of my life, they will be the way I remember him before my betrayal changed us forever. The memories that no one but me and him know exist.

Sneak peek: She gets up and walks to where her lighter is, lighting the letter on fire, watching as the orange flames lick up the paper, devouring the words she's just written. She throws the letter into her empty trash can, watching as the letter curls into nothing but a blackened piece of paper, eventually the flame burns out, leaving behind a piece of paper with scorched words.
