everything had gone back to normal in hawkins, indiana when eleven had closed the gate a year prior. she also got what she'd always wanted, to date mike wheeler. things seemed great, until will felt the mind flayer in him again at day of the dead. that's when the party and the rest of the gang decided to band together to help defeat the mind flayer once and for all. will sorts out his feelings with his completely oblivious best friend, who soon realizes el is not the one for him. like any other good summer, it sparks some new relationships and budding romances. but, of course something is going to get in the way of that..

Will and Mike get trapped in a closet in California. While they wait for Jonathan to come and free them, they talk about things. Mike finds out things about the painting and Will. And about himself.

"what are you trying to say, mike, i dont get it!" will yelled, shaking his head in confusion. "im in love with you, will! thats what im trying to say!" everything was silent for a moment. just mike breathing heavily and will looking at him in complete and utter shock. "what?" - will tells the party that hes gay, and mike goes completely silent. he cancels him and wills sleepover that they were going to have, and will blames himself. but through a course of events... he realised that he shouldve been more observant.

Mike starts to worry about Will more these days, Will won't talk to him about his nightmares from his past and that just makes him more worried but he knows Will will come around sooner or later. IMPORTANT: I won't be continuing this story from now on, I know that's upsetting, but it's true! It's because it's badly written and I just don't see myself continuing it. BUT My new fanfic is better written and you won't regret reading it, it's getting good loll!!

It's been 2 weeks since the rift split in Hawkins and the Byers are packing to move back to follow the expectations of the Military. As will works through his feelings towards Mike and the knowledge that his feelings are unrequited, he begins to notice things he hadn't before. Maybe his feelings aren't so one-sided after all. (Takes place in the 18 months between season 4 and season 5)
