Will Solace is thrown into Tartarus by an enemy of his father. He is a child of light, but it's beginning to go out. I don't really write fanfiction, but this was greatly inspired by a story I read on Archive of our Own called "I hear the walls repeating (sounds like drumming) by annaaperson if you wanna check it out)

(Basically a will solace hurt comfort fic with Kayla and Nico :) ) A clenched fist. Listen to yourself. There's no reason for a death. It was training, not a war. Will took off running. Far into the woods until he was far enough away from main camp. Murderer Will screamed in agony, his voice cracking as he started to sob. Each sob racked his frame. His voice muffled to the rest of camp by the trees. "I tried..." Will sobbed. "I tried so hard..." Nico di Angelo has always known Will would die before him. He could feel it in his bones, like a silent promise that his lover wouldn't last forever. But he didn't know it would be so soon. Will Solace falls in battle and Nico makes a deal with Hades to get him back. Nico must walk out of the underworld back to camp halfblood. Only the catch- Nico must remain in front and Will in back. If he turns even once Will goes back to the underworld forever and Nico loses the one person he's trained himself to trust. Can they do it? Or will the temptation of grappling onto what was once alive tear them apart? Orpheus and Eurydice retelling- Nico is Orpheus Will is Eurydice. Hades is- well, hades.
