No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan. This rule was shoved into the dirt-place during Greenleaf. A young kit who suffered a tramatic accident is rejected by their father and left to die, but something happened to the kit. WindClan's deputy, Shredbriar cares for the kit like it's her own kin, but she may have her paws-full with the task.
