Jessica Morrison is a bookwormish girl who just moved from Boston, MA to Terrefay, West Virginia after her dad gets a new job as the editor of the town's paper. Although her snobbish, goth older sister Lily is not a fan of life in small, wooded town, Jessica can't help loving everything about it. But Terrefay isn't exactly as it seems... When Jessica keeps seeing quantities of large black feathers on the forest floor near her home and sees giant bird-like creatures flying around at night, she can't help but wonder what mysteries, and wonders, might be living in her new home. What she finds is nothing like she expects...especially in the form of a handsome, shy boy with a deep and magical secret.
