Jack is an Alvor, (a human with wings), has raven wings. The only thing has in the world is his older brother, Atticus, with his mother gone and his father in prison. Jack is abused at school and acts like he is okay at home. He is all alone in this world, that is until Jack's bullies force him to fly into the dark woods where Jack finds a girl. She is absolutely gorgeous, but her beauty is not her most outstanding trait. She has hawk wings, the most rare and large wings of all. Eighteen-year-old Noctem Aurea started reading the books from his father's study early on, leading him to dream of actually seeing the world beyond the edge of the cavern. But the unreasonable laws were an issue, all of the books he'd been reading since he was eight, leaving and even talk of the other directions being illegal. The only thing he wants to do on his birthday is to go outside, his mother thinks it is better to go to a museum so Noctem flies off with a plan to see the outside. Now a criminal he has nowhere to go but forward. Meeting a new friend and many people help him learn about not only the world but his people from a different perspective, some of the things he hears he doesn't want to believe but continuing his journey with the guidance of his new friend and hearing similar things he can't help but do his research on the subject, his home Direction. On his journey, he finds things that are much worse than he was told by the other Directions, things that would make everyone riot against his old government. No promises on finishing this, I started writing it in my creative writing class.

I loved the whole Skyborn series, so I decided to try writing a sequel to it. All events in this fanfic take place after the end of the last book, Skyborn: Phoenix Rising. If you have not read the series, please do not read my story. Jessica Khoury's series is wonderful, and I don't want anyone getting spoilers. The books were meant for a middle school audience, or ages 13 and up, but some parts actually do get kind of dark, so if you're sensitive to that type of stuff, be warned. My fanmade sequel will be a bit darker. There are way too few Skyborn stories out there, and fellow fans are hard to come by. It makes me sad that people are missing out on such a great world.
