Winry is alone. And it has been two years since she has seen Edward, or Alphonse. she loves Edward. That is undoubtable, but over the years, there are so many things she has forgotten. But beyond that, there are so many things he has hidden from her. Namely, he is broken. He still fights, but he has so many scars, wounds that will never heal. PTSD of a sort? Check. Emesurable fear? Check. Feeling inhuman? Still check. There is one thing he doesn't realize though. And it's that things are never hopeless, and for him, there is someone who can help him. Winry.

A solemn but hopeful reconnection between to two soldiers compacted into a short but sweet story about their relationships. It's not too sad or dark though, I added an element of humour. Author's note: My narratives I feel are very canonically based stories with thorough research into characterisation and relationships. It was a long and detailed project despite being one part. Personally, I really am a sucker for my subjective interpretation of their relationship as 'more than friends' but 'less than lovers'.😍 So I focused on that this story despite my burning desire to ship them and smash their heads for a smooch🤣. Hence, I believe non shippers who are just fans of FMA and FMAB can really enjoy this one too. I wanted to express the humanity of the characters as dimensional as possible, while including subtle input of philosophy which follows the psyche of war veterans since I feel it is something people should engrave into their heart and never forget. I'm still a student who writes for practice and seeks advice. Please let me know for any feedback of sort whether regarding philosophical ideas, or literal grammar etc, but refrain from hate speech or criticism.

An FMAB AU!

They say after a tragedy, life gets better. For Edward Elric, it did. After being tortured for a couple days ruined him. But, Roy Mustang swept Ed off his feet and saved him. Then four months later, an old enemy appears. Roy changes, Ed cracks. But once again, Roy fixed him, the piece of broken metal Ed was. Now, it's been five years, since Roy had saved him. Ed's life finally got better. But it didn't last long.

Denial. Anger. Bargaining. Depression. Acceptance. Trapped in a world in which he didn't belong, Edward Elric tries to deal with his life, although he wished nothing more than to return to his world with his beloved people. Feelings can be an insurmountable barrier. At the same time, however, they can be wings that lift you up into the clear sky. The only question is if you accept your feelings.
