Georgia Miller and Bucky Barnes have a complicated history.
After the events of Civil War, Bucky was quickly sent to Wakanda, where he broke Hydra's control over him. A year later, he returned to the Avengers Tower, where he lived with the other Avengers, including Georgia Miller.
Georgia--or Gia, or George, depending on who you ask--was a Black Widow who grew up with Nat and Yelena. She and Nat escaped together and had been side-by-side ever since.
Bucky was quiet, but he quickly grew attached to Georgia. They formed a fast friendship, which quietly grew into more. After six months of teasing, gentle laughter, and lingering touches, the two turned their friendship into something more.
They quickly fell in love, and for almost a year, everything was perfect. The two were attached at the hip, doing everything together. You never saw one without the other. They were each other's safe space, and they were happy.
But that was then.
Before the Battle of Wakanda. Before Thanos. Before the snap that took them both for five years.
Then the Battle of Earth.
Tony. Steve. Nat.
Georgia returned to a world without her sister.
Bucky watched his best friend choose to live a life without him.
Life was quiet for a while as they grieved, and soon enough, a year had passed.
Then came the arguments.
Small things they would've never fought about before built up and up and up until finally, Bucky said the one thing that they had both been trying so hard to avoid.
They decided to split up.
That was four years ago, and Georgia hasn't seen Bucky since.
Now, she lives with her sister, Yelena, doing jobs for Valentina Allegra de Fontaine until they decide it's time to move on to the next chapter in their lives. Valentina agrees on the condition that they finish one final job for her.
Should be simple enough, right?
What Georgia doesn't know is that all the training, qualifications, and experience in the world couldn't have prepared her for what's coming.
