In wintertime the favourite haunt of the poet is the North Sea in the isles of Langeooge, Sylt and Borkum, where he takes long walks, inhaling the fresh air loaded with minerals that is so good for the lungs. The poet lives in the Black Forest during the summer months and likes to do walks in the countryside and scribble in his notebook the impressions and observations of people, Nature in all its manifestations and to share these experiences with the readers. A short story about the embodiment of Winter

The one thing that stands the narrator and their home is a simple lake, which, in wintertime, is locally infamous for its unreliably frozen surface. As they contemplate the lake and its victims, they sprint recklessly to the other side. Their path is familiar, but perhaps their footing is not so certain as they would like to believe. This story is appropriate for all ages, and for me, it was more of a writing experiment. I had to get creative with thoughts and descriptions, not only to keep the expectation-defying ending consistenr, but because the character's eyes were closed, so I could not use literal visual descriptions. The ending can be a little confusing to some, but I hope it was effective; please comment any questions or suggestions!
