Wishing was always my go-to. My back-up. My hobby. After all, wishes can come true; can't they? Zoe wasn't popular, or pretty, or even that courageous. She was "just a plain Jane, an ugly Jane" as she would think. All those other books, where the girls' lives were complete shit but they were "stunningly beautiful" or "genius" or experiencing some kind of terrible trauma, and that's what made them special.
