Manolo and Marisol are two cousins who are starting their first day of high school together. They both share the same birthday, they each have a single mother and an older sister, and they share the same passion for music. They become friends with six aspiring musicians named Sacha, Anton, Jenna, Alyssa, Monica, and Chuckie who are all in their history class. The 8 of them decides to form a band together called "HOTE". They've audition for a few record labels, but found no success. They found out that their history teacher Freddie Herrera used to be a musician in his youth, so they ask him if he could help them get a record deal by being their band manager. He said no, not because he doesn't want to get their hopes up, but he is trying to hide his secret from his students that he's actually a warlock from another dimension. They find out about his secret, and they promise to keep his secret, but they still want him to be their band manager. He agrees, however they must help him find 8 crystals that are hidden under the school, because every 50 years, a mysterious darkness comes to the human world, and they must find them before the darkness does. Freddie's evil twin sister Dominique became a member of the darkness, but her brother or her family doesn't know about it, and knowing that she'll do anything to stop her brother from saving the world from the darkness, she decides to get a job as a PE teacher at the school, to spy on Freddie and his students and stop them from ruining her evil plan.

Everett Kaylocks story is considered a lonely one. Why don't we start from the beginning... After the end of the immortal war Everett and the last few surviving immortals scatter to the ends of the earth for safety and Everett finds he's the only one like him to survive. He travels the world to see if he can find anyone like him so he doesn't end up as the last of his kind. A lost soul with unthinkable power. Can he gain forgiveness or lose his soul piece by piece in the hunt for the others. HOTE finally got their chance to open for Jason Pride, but realize that they must write and record a song of their own to perform at their first concert. They get Freddie to help them, as he knows more about songwriting than they do. Meanwhile, the band must find the other crystals, in order to stop Dominique from achieving them. Both Manolo and Marisol realize that they're both in love with Sacha, but they can't date him because he already has a girlfriend, but what they don't realize is that she's cheating on him with Anton. Manolo forms a friendship with Jason to help him get over his crush on Sacha, but learns that he has a secret that he doesn't want anyone to find out. Manolo forms a father-son relationship with Freddie, to help him feel more confidant and understanding. Marisol forms an unlikely friendship with Dominique, as Dominique convinces Marisol to become a diva to get people to respect her, even if it means hurting the people she cares about, including her cousin.

Alicia and Dominique joins forces with a powerful warlock named Santiago who has the power to manipulate people's emotions. He offers to have HOTE turn their backs on each other. Manolo's former crush Davy comes back into his life. Marisol becomes friends with a female pop star from Woke Records named Annika who is an activist, or so she says. The band has to choose between staying at Freedom Records or going to Woke Records.

The band are going to perform at their school winter carnival. Marisol starts to understand that her relationship with Manolo means more to her than anything that's going on in the world. The band gets a surprise from Charles that will help their career. Annika plans to get her revenge on Marisol and her bandmates.

The band are starting their sophomore year at Donovan High. The band are starting to get more popular with their music. Manolo and Sacha are still going strong, until an old friend of Manolo comes back to his life. Marisol falls in love with a new student named Alex, but what she doesn't know that he is Alicia's cousin from Spain. The band are being offered a new record deal, but Freddie isn't sure he should let them. Alicia and Dominique are planning their revenge and they are getting help from a powerful warlock.

To fall for one who is in the arms of another is the worst type of torture. To have them enter your life and leave behind the other, is an act of true love. Marisol leaves the group and signs a record deal with Woke Records. The band meets someone who knows Annika and tells them a dirty secret about her. Marisol has to choose between her idol and her friends. Alicia and Dominique are halfway there to their plan.

Devyn is new to her father's town. Upon arriving strange things begin to occur. Not only does her father, who claims to have change, begins to act weird and abusive again. She also begins to feel a strange pull to a man she's never met. As she grows closer to him and her two new best friends, mysterious things begin to happen. Missing people, deaths and fear runs rampant. As she learns more she starts to discover the mysteries of an unknown world and the dangers that await.

Freddie is in a coma, and the other members have disappeared. Manolo and Marisol realize they must save their bandmates from their fate. They find out that their bandmates are somewhere in the woods, where Dominique and Alicia hide them. They must go deep into the woods, and find them. As they find their bandmates one by one, Manolo is given flashbacks of Freddie's past, that tells secrets of why he and Sean parted ways, and why he was pressured into being someone he wasn't, while pursuing his dream of being famous in Hollywood. Manolo will also find out a secret about himself that he never knew.

Homecoming is on it's way. Manolo feels Sacha is being too lazy to want to go to Homecoming. Marisol questions if she made the right choice with Rocko. Santiago will use Rocko to get his revenge on Homecoming Night.
