Withdrawal Stories

For years, I gave Rex Williams everything. I knew his coffee order before he said it, ironed his shirts without being asked, kept the apartment warm, clean, and ready so he could walk in and feel taken care of. Then the comments started appearing. The more they pointed out the cracks, the harder it was to ignore the truth. Then he broke up with me because I felt more like a mom than a girlfriend. The hard part was figuring out who I was without him - and why my best friend was suddenly the only person who made me feel safe, seen, and wanted.

Reducing medication, a diary written whilst in withdrawal. Hopefully others can identify and realise their experiences are part of the process... keep pushing. Sorry it does not make 100% sense all of the time, it was how the words fell!
