Saanjh slammed her hands onto the polished mahogany desk, sending a slight tremor through the crystal water glasses.
"And that, Mr. Advait, is the final, undisputed list of reasons why this so-called alliance cannot possibly work."
He was reclining in the leather armchair as if he were watching a particularly poor comedy. The sight of his relaxed posture made her grit her teeth.
"Tch... this man," she muttered to herself.
He offered a devastatingly charming smile. "I don't find any of your given reasons a problem in our marriage, Ms. Saanjh. Anything else you wanna say?" he asked, being clearly amused by her desperate reasons to break this alliance.
"Uhh... yeah, I do have more," she said, her brain racing to conjure a reason so solid, so utterly logical, that even Advait would have to concede.
I... I... think something, Saanjh. It's now about your life. Think, girl, think!!
He raised an eyebrow, his head slightly tilted, keenly listening to her struggle. "You?" he prompted.
Her mind went utterly blank. Panic seized her throat, and the only thing that escaped was the first, most nonsensical phrase she could grab from the ether.
"I am a... MAN!!"
She sank back into her chair, covering her face. Advait didn't laugh, but the slight twitch at the corner of his lips was worse.
"Ohhh, no. I'm done now."
