A little under a year after defeating The Red Death, Hiccup and Toothless are flying around Berk, on a small island they find a book about Hiccups family. The insides reveal a forgotten time where humans and dragons lived in harmony, dating all the way back to over a thousand years ago when Hiccup Horrendous Haddock I, became the first King of the Wilderwest. Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third, former heir to Berk and son of Stoick the Vast, vanished after his Slavemark was revealed and the Dragon Rebellion began. What has happened to him throughout that year when he was an Outcast? How did he cope with the stress of running away from both Dragon and Viking? How did he survive the rough depths of the forest? Most of all, how did he win against his inner fears and depression? This story handles the missing part between Book 9 and Book 10.
