Bentley didn't like the idea of a wolf born mate, a wolf that couldn't shift. He was a shifter. He wanted a shifter mate, not that he ever thought about it until now. Still, he was taught the Creator didn't make mistakes. So, he had to step up and get to know this wolf. He stayed, stealing the moments and glances he could. When he found out the wolf couldn't be his mate he still couldn't make himself drive away. He didn't know what the attachment between them was but it was undeniably an connection. He needed to find the reason for the bond.

A Destiny fanfic based around the story of a young hunter, in his early years as a guardian.

*Spinoff from The Girl Who Runs, takes place during The Girl Who Runs* Navarre Böri (Mountain Wolf) is a wolf who has only ever know the cold mountains of Boreal. As a child her mother would look after her, teaching her the ways of the forests. The ways of the Gods. Not too long after her birth something happened to her mother... She disappeared without a word. Navarre couldn't find her, her scent lost in the whirlwinds of the snowy storms. Of course even without her mother she continued to practice their ways; keeping to herself while living in the caves of Mount Kona. She grew accustomed to the solidarity of a lone wolf, taking comfort in the silence. From the moment she was born she was without a pack, and knew nothing of pack life. She was vicious and cautious, two things that helped her survive as a young wolf alone in the wilderness. More wolf than human, she based her actions and thoughts off of pure primal instincts. Navarre and her wolf were so in sync that you couldn't see the end of Navarre and the start of her wolf. To the point where they both were just Navarre, no separate minds no separate wills. Navarre was content with her lonesome life, knowing nothing else, not even questioning her mother's disappearance once she was older. That was just how the world worked; you gained things and you lost things. Now, what would happen when someone unknowingly stumbled into her territory? Someone who was determined to show her pack life? And that intrusive wolf just happened to be Mokan Songaa of the Gelid Pack. Eager to force his way into her life, whether she wanted him to or not.

The chimes of the church bell rang out across the silent forest. 4 AM. The wind roared in his ears. The morning dew on the forest floor tickled his paws as he sprinted. His inner wolf was free... for now. In a few hours the sun would rise and he would be contained by the human world again. Logan wasn't like other people.
