At 25-years-old, the granddaughter of South Korean immigrants, lived on her own in a nice apartment close to where she grew up. With a cat named Tabby as her sole roommate, and a job as a secretary at a local law firm, she didn't expect any more trouble than possibly over sleeping or spilling her daily chocolate ice cap on the way to work. But trouble seems to have a way at finding those who least expect it, and Clara soon found herself stumbling through the rain on a wooded back road in the dead night. After being held against her will by people she could only bring herself to refer to as 'them', Clara must face the world of normal. However, without a job and a place to live, Clara found herself back living with her parents. Little did she know an interview for the job of personal assistant to the CEO of Imperium would lead to so much more. Starting over can be difficult, especially when the ones who ruined your life are still out there. Clara knows this better than anyone, but even her past can't stop the attraction she feels for her new boss, Jefferson Ellsworth. Cold, straightforward, and as hard as a rock, he's the kind of man that should intimidate her, yet all she feels is safety. By his side is the only place she can breathe. Although her breaths won't matter if her abductors kill her first.
