Bessie whiling dervish force of nature but her life was full of poverty, drug addiction, brutality, and murder.

A short story I wrote for the #MyHandmaidsTale Contest. I wanted to write something simply because I wanted to contribute, more than anything. Like millions of others the story resonates with me in so many ways and that led me to writing this story. I hope you enjoy it.

You've heard of enemies-to-lovers, but what about enemies-through-letters? 💌👀 The captain of the guard goes up against a particularly cunning (and rather charming) thief in this epistolary-style fantasy short story with sapphic undertones. This was written as a short writing piece for the DIVINITY creative writing group. The prompt was "3 Things" (2 Enemies, 1 Candle, 1 Taxi).
