When Anirudh Roy Chowdhary, a twenty-one year old barrister, who is the eldest son of a rich family of landlords, returned to India abruptly after completing his graduation from London, for improving the conditions of women in India, to change the orthodox and conservative mindsets of the people of his country, he wasn't warmly welcomed by his family; because his family's expectations and his aspirations did not match. On a dreadful night, when he was forced to get married to an eleven year old girl, he promised to take her responsibility for lifetime and make her independent; but refused to consider her as his wife, vowing to his morals and principles. Yet, with the passage of time, their bond grew stronger and within no time his little wife became his greatest support system, the only one to understand him in this harsh world that otherwise termed him as a crazy one, obsessed with the ideas of revolution and social change. However, when child marriage began to take its toll on the innocence of his little wife, Anirudh takes a drastic step to save her from the toxic clutches of patriarchy and the conservative society, thus paving way for her bright future. In this process will he lose his one and only support, the reason for his very existence? Will he ever realize that his wife is his soul mate? How will these two revolting partners unite and stand against the tide to bring better changes in the country? Set in the early 20th century Bengal, British India, this is a story of sacrifice, selflessness, pure love and patriotism of a revolutionary Barrister, who is often misread by the world, seen through his lens. (The story is based a popular Indian television show called "Barrister Babu". )

In 1882, Doctor Jane Barber has no shortage of problems. From being scrutinised at work for her gender, judged for her youth, and undermined by society as a whole, shes had quite enough. The Boer War was a traumatic experience on its own, but on top of that, Jane now has to find accommodation in London on her own- as the years she should've spent meeting a man and settling down, she spent in a trench tending to wounds. Detective Inspector Arthur Murphy is in need of a roommate. His last was too whiny, the one before that too loud. Another whistled too much, and a brief encounter with one man's dog was enough for Arthur to evict him immediately. When his sister Ada finally puts her foot down, and finds him a roommate herself. Which is how Arthur comes home one day to find his new roommate: a woman. If the Boer War was explosive, Jane and Arthur sharing a shabby flat in London is practically a world war. Spilled tea, scattered case files, and one meddling doctor who won't stop tidying his desk. Arthur nearly kills Jane. Jane nearly kills Arthur. And no, for the last time, as they have to tell many people, they are not married. | Work In Progress Story | Updates multiple times a week | Will become a series once this book is complete | Please vote and comment | | The Detective & The Doctor playlist | https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3LiwNQoyLA2QkOR5N8Edcy?si=u9uaOykYTie1unEbjxRWhQ&pi=bWLjxklLTb-qT

Does anger cause damage? If Georgia Ellenburg still believed in coincidences, she'd disagree. But George knows better. People get hurt around her, and now that her sister doesn't want to go to a college--a dream George gave up so that it could belong to Maeve--George is forced to stare down her past, and, in the meantime, protect her budding relationship with Sam, who she knows her anger will harm if given the chance. Since having assumed guardianship over her sister, George has one goal: to keep Maeve safe, and, at twenty-four, she's done so by creating a life with minimal unpredictability. In her efforts, George has given up nearly everything so that her sister can have the life that was supposed to belong to George. Maeve, however, expresses other ideas, ideas that don't involve college or anything that George gave up for her sister, which pits George against the choices she's made and the anger she's buried because of them. George has a secret, a secret that can no longer be considered a coincidence, and when Sam enters her life and begins to chip away at the pain she thought she'd let go, she must face the ultimate test of unpredictability: either confront her past or risk hurting Sam. Because her anger always hurts those around her. xxx tags: slow burn, romance, family drama, feminism, trauma

(COMPLETED!) In a world with magic for the few who possess the OS gene, 21-year-old witch, Marianne must navigate the aftermath of the mysterious departure of her long time mentor, Virginia, leaving her tasked with the overwhelmingly annoying responsibility of her new apprentice, Virginia's niece, 14-year-old Lily. Lily may not know a lot about magic but she knows absolutely everything about getting under Marianne's skin, especially balancing the girl's seemingly complete inability to perform any spells with the dangerous magical outbursts that call into question everything Marianne thought she knew about the world they live in. #1 in #equalrights (11/12/2020)! #1 in #thought-provoking (02/05/2021)! #12 in #occult (12/30/2020)!

Extended universe short story from the 9th Arm. Women do not expire. Men are not natural leaders. Patriarchy is a cultural malfunction. A broken nose is the least painful thing in this story. Currently ranked #3 in Women's Rights and #2 in Patriarchy with fewer than 20 reads. If that doesn't tell you something about society, I don't know what will.

The story is about a girl and the challenges she faces from the time she is born till the time of her death and how she overcomes all her challenges and proves the real meaning of feminism and how she could have surpassed if only she was treated as equal as a man. The women is brought down by the society and by her own mom but she doesn't lose hope. All she remembers in her hard time is the voice of her elder sister who was murdered on the name of honor as she wanted to marry a man of her choice and not the one who she was committed even before she was born.

The moment I was born as a girl in this world, my fate had ripped me into pieces for others to chose it for me. My childhood till my marriage I was in guidance of my father. My father loved me....but if it would have ever come to his honor, he would have happily killed me with the same hands he picked me up for the first time and silence my voice which called him Baba. But that's alright....honor is more important...right. The second piece of my life was tied to my husband. I was told, if your husband loves you and takes care of you, for a girl that is enough. But do I love my husband...does that even matter? Maybe in time I may fall in love, if love was even real to begin with...but will he give me the time to understand me, or like a man claim his right on me. Does it even matter if I don't want to give myself to him...or does he have the right to take everything because he owns me now. He has married me and has become my owner. He has the right to love me....or to hurt me... Just because I am a girl... Then there was my heart who fell in love with my childhood friend. I never thought my own heart would betray me...I knew I never had my own choice, yet I fell in love with a boy who was a sudra....for he is the only one in my world who showed me respect above all else. It terms of status he was below me...but in terms of giving he was above me...he was never mine but fate had ripped a piece of me and tied it to him... For now here I lie between life and death...finally my fate had shown me some love, for maybe it is time for death to take its final piece, and set me free. But I feel the pull from someone still tied to me. ************************* Sometimes some relationships mean more to us than those with a name. However, when society asks you what is the relationship you have with this person, that's when we question our hearts, if all relationships need a name. Even those that are tied by the heart.

The leafs rustled as the soft wind dangled around it, droplets of water were visible on the brown plants making it look eternal it was autumn anyways so brown leaves were scattered all over the ground. My mind was void, I couldn't think of anything but his filthy hands on mine, no matter how hard I scrubbed and scratched I couldn't get the feeling of his slimy hand off. I couldn't cry anymore, I feel like I've exhausted the water in my eyes, my eyes were red already. No one asked what was wrong, they all acted like everything was okay. It's not I feel like ending it all. The monster is still out there no one believed me they all thought it was just another drunken night, that I was making up stories and just like almost every rape case the guy was set free and I was put in therapy for a year and that's just the type of shit that happens to every woman who has been violated by a man. Sitting on a bench , I vowed I would never be defenseless against a man ever again my anger grew each time I thought about it , my thoughts even gets darker when I think about ending him , killing him in the most brutal way is all I can think about. I wouldn't not rest till I've gotten what I want which is to see his dead body laying down on my feet as i smile in contentment.
