Athena was traveling around the country seeing her family after losing her husband in a car accident a year before the fall. She thought that they were perfect for one another and losing him shook her to her core. She was in Georgia when the world started to go to hell. After traveling alone for few months into the apocalypse, she stopped to sleep in the woods when she heard two engines stop late into the night. She went closer to the camp, snapping a twig. Then small whispers. A man with a southern twang (appropriate to the area) spoke in a hushed but urgent tone. Athena just caught the end of what he had been saying: "This isn't a democracy anymore!" Shortly after making her presence known, she gets to know the members of the group she heard whispering little by little, though they are hard to let her in to the group at first. After finally being accepted, she catches the eye of Daryl Dixon, the rugged, silent protector of the group. She is extremely apprehensive to do so after losing her husband only a year ago. But as different as this new world is, as broken and sad, he would want her to find some sort of glimmer of hope. **I do not own the rights to any of The Walking Dead characters. When she wasn't out learning to survive and staying away from her parents she was in her room reading or watching her favorite tv show,The Walking Dead. Now at the age of 21 and finally away from her parents she thinks her life will finally get better.. Instead Penelope is in an accident and wakes up in a very familiar hospital... season1-

Daryl grabbed her wrist, not enough to hurt her; but enough to get her attention. He whirled her body around to face his. He pressed his hand to her lower back to hold her against him. Hailey's breath hitched. "My. Arrow."

"You have one job," he called to the young children before he was overtaken. "Just survive somehow." {Not all the characters are mine. Only Cassia, Jacob, Dustin, Kyle, Auggie, Grace and any other character that doesn't appear in The Walking Dead are mine. All other character's rights go to The Walking Dead producers.}

Selena has been on the road for sometime looking for some sort of shelter. So far every single car she's driven has either broken down, lost gas, or won't work. Quickly learning ways of walkers, using them to her advantages, just 'simple' survival. As much as a 22 year old woman can do, other than a tiny knife she stole off of a walker in a gas station. Sleeping from house to house, barely eating enough to survive the next few days. Until Rick's group comes along.. Will the group take her in?

Daryl and Merle's sister Ashley, has been raised killing walkers by her brothers sides. Ashley and her best friend Carl, have grown up in this horrible kind of world as inseparable friends. They have comforted each other through all the pain and death that the new world brings. But their friendship is tested, when she finds her brother Merle in a new town, begging for her and Daryl to come join him. She can't imagine leaving her friends and the other survivors she sees as family. As she thinks on what to do, she realizes that this new calm town, is not as it seems, And the people there puts everyone she loves in danger. This takes place in the prison, because I prefer the later seasons.

This is a story from Lizzie's point of view. If you're a fan of Lizzie and Mika and were disappointed when they were immediately killed off the show, then this is the book for you! -- After escaping the dangerous hands of the governor, fighting off the cold stares from the rest of the kids at the prison, being left behind by her own mother, AND surviving an awful attack on the prison from none other than, the governor. Lizzie starts to lose it. What's real and what's not, she can never be sure anymore. Something happens. Something changes her in Woodbury. But what is it? Is it her sister? The lady with the sword?
