Nerissa Hanegan has been an elven ranger for as long as she can remember, she had very few friends, and she would trust no one, until one fateful day. She was near the Mirkwood borders, looking at the trees, admiring them, singing in elvish to the ones that were sick. She was then ambushed by orcs, and had no there choice but to enter the forest. She was then taken prisoner by the elves the dwelled there, and soon fell in love with the prince of the realm, Legolas Greenleaf, and he too, fell in love with the elven ranger, for it was fate.

This is complete and takes place several months after the battle and provides closure for the box of gems. Yeah, remember that box in Thranduil's very first scene in Hobbit? I figured closing my last story with it was a fitting end to my series. Plus, I wanted to see what would happen with a dwarf in the Woodland Realm so it's kind of a fun sequel to Oin's little adventure of trying to save Kili and witnessing Tauriel's magic.

[This is kind of a hard hitting story--and I wrote it that way-- because: 1) I wanted to address the way Legolas talks about her in that scene and how desolate he sounded not knowing anything about what happened to her while staying true to the movieverse; 2) I added some dwarves to give more weight to the animosity and 3) it's like, what would really-I mean really-turn Thranduil's heart to stone and make him want to hide away from the rest of the world? This is what came together after hours and hours of watching the extended versions and the extras And I didn't look at any other sources for information--including the books--or any fandom wiki sites. It's all based on my speculation of what made sense from the dvds and the creation of my OCs.]
