A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.... Following the defeat of Sheev Palpatine's Final Order, a new Galactic Republic emerged, this time with greater devolved power for each planet under their control. Initially, the Republic worked in unison with Jedi Master Rey Skywalker's re-formed Jedi Order. But 200 years of peace has made the Jedi obsolete, and the force has long been forgotten by most of the Galaxy. In the Outer Rim, the Galactic Republic shares power on the planet Socorro with the Arkanis Cartel, based out of Tatooine... The Socorro Crisis is book one of my Star Wars fanfiction trilogy. Star Wars tells an epic story with incredible heroes battling legendary dark forces. While we get to experience those stories from inside an x-wing with our heroes, or alongside the Jedi on their many heroic missions, not everyone in the galaxy gets a first hand look at those greater Galactic events. That's where the Galactic Broadcasting Channel, GBC, comes in. Join Andira Gut'irez and Antonio Barconi as they attempt to cover the most important events in Star Wars history and try to keep the galaxy a little more informed. Can they discover the secrets of the Sith before the Jedi do? Can they uncover the mystery of the Clone Army's origins? Can they find out how Palpatine (somehow) returned? Do Ewoks really eat humans? And who are Rey's parents really? All of these questions, and more, will be answered on the Galactic Broadcasting Channel, the Galaxy's most trusted news network. This will read less like a typical short story and more like a script in order to capture the feeling of a news report. It's inspired by The Star Wars Show when it was hosted by Andi and Anthony, and I'm trying to capture that fun vibe. I hope you enjoy!

I swallowed the bile that rose in my throat. Gosh, I killed him. I banished the thought from my brain and opened up the crate. Looking around I noticed the many cells. My small frame could barley lift itself from the crate and when I did it toppled with me. A loud bang had me freezing. "Oh cijt!" One of the alligator aliens showed up, gun pointed straight at me. I stood up with fear pulsing off me, hands in the air. "How did you get out of your cell!?" He marched over to me and grabbed my long shirt that is a brown sack. I was lifted in the air as he snarled at me. "We'll just have to put you some where, where you won't escape." I gulped at his look and he brought me to the back of the ship. The cage was very dark and I felt a feeling of horror as he opened the cell and tossed me in. "Stay in there you filthy rat. You're not even worth killing. You can be food to the Wookie." He laughed and walked back to his post.
