A four hundred year old prophecy has started to unfold - the Warrior of Lightning has been chosen. She has began gathering her army, to end the threat of the Dragon Hunters and paint the skies with powerful Dragons once again.

Each year, there are a few dragon riders that are different. They are the Dragon Shapeshifters, and there is a special academy for them. Elana is one, and she is going to the mysterious academy of the Dragon Shapeshifters. She learns how to fight, how to hunt and how to fly, but something is terribly wrong in the academy.

After the events of 'How To Train Your Dragon', Hiccup finds himself in the hands of a strange girl from the north, Emyra, who traps powerful dragons before someone else with worse intentions can. Emyra is also in possession of a night fury, Darkflight, and Blizzard, a woolly howl. Upon realising her mistake, not previously knowing the night fury she saw in the sky, Toothless, had a rider, she releases the pair, and they return to Berk, mystified. Years later, when Hiccup and Toothless arrive back in Berk after exploring beyond Itchy Armpit, they find it in flames, all of it's inhabitants gone, save only Stormfly. Hiccup sets out to find Emyra again, hoping to find his people. Even if it means a fight to the death. (Plus a tiny bit of Hiccstrid...)

Merida is a dragon rider who opposes the dragon hunters and is on a mission to take them down along with her dragon. Merida meets the dragon riders and they join forces to take down the dragon hunters. *I do not claim to own dreamworks or the art used in the story, I also do not claim Merida from the brave movie but I do claim the rest of the story like the backstory.*
