Before the apocalypse he wasn't happy, always bullied for his disabilities. As life gets better for him something has to throw a curve ball its wasn't god as i believe there isn't one anymore, i mean why would god do this? To test if you're good enough by making the ones we love sick and turning you a mass murder? He's a normal teenage boy on the outside, but just look a little closer and you can see the hurt and sadness in his eyes.
